As of today, Tuesday, June 27, 2023, basic schools in Ghana have officially started the third term of the 2023 academic year. According to the academic calendar, the school year for elementary schools ends on September 15, 2023.
The third term of the 2023 academic year will last a total of 11 weeks and 2 days in elementary schools. On September 15, 2023, the academic year will formally conclude.
The Ghana Education Service is making every effort to bring back the previous academic year. As a result, this year’s academic year will come to a close in September for both junior high and elementary schools. This will assist the Ghana Education Service in reestablishing the previous academic calendar, which began in September or October each year.
2023 BECE
On Monday, August 27, 2023, the third term of the 2023 academic year will also begin for the candidates for the BECE. They will remain in school until August 11, 2023, when the BECE will be over.
The BECE for this year will begin on Monday, August 7, 2023, and end on Friday, August 11, 2023.
The official schedule is available. All BECE applicants are urged to study over this final stretch before their exams. For SHS admission, there is a grade cutoff. If candidates don’t fare well on the BECE, they might not receive the SHS they want.
